“When a {person| is tired of London, {they are} tired of life..."
London is a very special place. It's more than just a major European capitol city. It's a hub of different cultures, complicated history, green spaces and incredible architecture everywhere you turn. What is guaranteed is you'll leave wanting to share everything you ate and saw with anyone that will listen. Which is how this project came about - to share because it's all too good to keep to ourselves.
That said, there are a few tips of what NOT to do, which is equally as important.
1. Do not go to a pub or restaurant that has pictures on the menu or on the sign outside. This typically means the food is pre-frozen and not fresh. You can do better.
2. Beware of pubs with Wetherspoons in the name. Although budget friendly, the food will not be as friendly to your body. It's fine for some pints in between meals, but not for food.
3. The hop on/hop off buses are great. Don't bother with the tour. But instead, use them as transportation to the places you want to go.
4. Do not rely on uber! Take the tube or bus. It is so easy and so convenient. The best transportation system in the world. Download citymapper. That is key to getting around town. Or even better, WALK. It's a flat city, so you won't have to battle hills and you'll see and learn a lot more. Upon arrival, get yourself an Oyster Card, the local transportation card. They do take cards, but you'll likely be charged a bank fee everytime you tap, so better to go old school.
5. Don't skip out on a Sunday roast lunch. Plan to eat by 3pm as most pubs run out early and enjoy an afternoon of good food and even better conversation.
6. Don't skip out on museums! Most are free.
